Kerry our founder can’t quite believe that 30 years after sitting in a lecture theatre at Liverpool Hope University taking notes, she was back there yesterday delivering a presentation.
A real full-circle moment!
It was a brilliant People’s Forum from Knowsley Chamber Of Commerce, hosted by Liverpool Hope University Business School (LHBS) chaired by Peter Waller-Flynn, with some fantastic insights from Jo Whittingham, Emma Clarke and Sue Cronin not forgetting the wonderful Suzanne for looking after us from the events team.
Our session focused on three key stages of the recruitment journey and why getting the basics right matters more than ever:
➡️Creating a clear job and person specification before starting the search
➡️Running an effective and consistent interview process
➡️Giving new employees the best possible start through strong onboarding
Nothing overly complicated, but these are often the areas that make the biggest difference not only to finding the right person, but to helping them settle, succeed and stay.

Thank you also to everyone who joined us. It was lovely to see so many familiar faces, meet some new ones and have some really honest conversations about the challenges businesses are facing when recruiting and managing people.
And yes, for Kerry standing at the front of that lecture theatre felt very different from sitting at the back 30 years ago!
