Beam Recruit is proud to be supporting a rapidly growing business services organisation based in St Helens, as they look to appoint an Assistant Accountant on a 3–6 month fixed-term contract.

What You Will  Be Doing

Reporting into the Financial Controller , you’ll support the finance function across a range of core accounting duties, including:

• Assisting with month-end preparation and reporting
• Accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations
• Supporting accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
• Bank reconciliations and cashflow support
• Assisting with financial data analysis and reporting
• Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting process improvements
• Payroll support (nice to have)

This is a varied and hands-on role, ideal for someone who enjoys working in a busy environment and being part of a team that’s driving improvement.

What Makes You a Great Fit

To be considered, you’ll ideally have:

• Previous experience in an Assistant Accountant / Accounts role
• AAT qualified (or working towards)
• Strong Excel skills and confident working with finance systems
• A proactive, can-do attitude with strong attention to detail
• Ability to hit the ground running in a fast-paced environment
• Payroll experience would be beneficial, but not essential
